Skydiving Hampton Roads

There’s more to Hampton, Newport News, Gloucester, Poquoson VA than the Coliseum, Langley Air Force base, NASA, and Christopher Newport University. If you’ve lived in the area for a while you know theirs a rich history. One part of the history that you may not know is that skydiving has been part of the community since the late 60’s. This make Hampton Roads one of the oldest skydiving area in the country. Originally named the Peninsula Skydivers. They began skydiving in West Point. Skydiving has been part of the area ever since. You now have a chance to continue this rich tradition by making a skydive.

  • Follow I-64 West
  • Take exit 227 for VA-30 toward West Point/Toano
  • Keep right at the fork and merge onto VA-30 N/Old Stage Rd
  • Continue to follow VA-30 N
  • Turn right onto VA-273 N/Farmers Dr
  • Turn right onto VA-30 N/VA-33 E/Eltham Rd
  • Continue to follow VA-33 E

The water area known as Hampton Roads is one of the world’s largest natural harbors. The area is steeped in 400 years of American history and hundreds of historical sites and attractions in the area draw visitors from around the world each year. The harbor was the key to the Hampton Roads area’s growth, both on land and in water-related activities and events.
